Give Your Bowel A Hydrating Bath For Happy Skin

| August 21st, 2011 | No Comments »

One of the most important attributes of colon hydrotherapy is that it hydrates the whole body, not just the colon!

You may be drinking water, yet still be dehydrated due to an abundance of dried mucous and waste material inside the colon.

Each day the colon recycles over 70% of important body fluids including, electrolytes, enzymes, hormones and more through the process of absorption. Colonics hydrate the cell tissue in the colon wall to promote this process.

A hydrated colon is essential for the other organs of digestion. The small intestine, stomach, liver, gall bladder and pancreas depend upon this hydration to produce their digestive fluids. The colon hydrates the blood and lymph fluids, which in turn hydrate the body’s cells, including skin cells.

These hydrated cells can more effectively release stored toxins from every organ system. The average American holds over 200 major toxins throughout their body!

In today’s toxic world, our bodies are stressed. Stressed bodies benefit from a relaxing, hydrating bath the same way stressed bowels benefit from a hydrating session of colon hydrotherapy.

When plain, pure, clean water is allowed to flow directly into the lower bowel, it can effectively hydrate the colon, as well as the entire body. The colonic procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and as natural as soaking in a bathtub. Go ahead, and take the dive. Your skin will be happy too!

Plain Talk About Colonics

| July 12th, 2010 | No Comments »

When many people hear the word ‘colonic’ they immediately think of an ‘enema’. Truth be told, colonics have come a long way since ancient times when people went down to the river with a gourd and a reed. Colonic therapist, Brenda Watson from Florida, helps to dispel the myths about colonics, and explores the benefits of modern colon hydrotherapy.

COLON HYDROTHERAPY EXPLAINED

Oasis Colonics in Portland, Oregon
uses state-of-the-art, sanitary, closed-system colon hydrotherapy equipment with a triple filtered water filtration system, including ultra-violet light. It is designed to meet the highest industry safety standards.

This safe, gentle and effective procedure is becoming increasingly popular among people who want to reclaim their health, and prevent premature aging and disease. At Oasis Colonics, many first time colon hydrotherapy clients often ask similar questions. Below are a few examples.

~~How long does it take? ~~
At Oasis Colonics, we allow one and a half hours for each session. You will be on the table for approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

~~Is it uncomfortable? ~~
A colonic should NEVER be uncomfortable. At Oasis Colonics, most clients find the experience quite pleasant once they become accustomed to it.

~~Do I have to fast before a colonic? ~~
At Oasis Colonics, fasting is not a requirement. For maximum comfort, however, we recommend that your stomach is fairly empty when you come in for your session. Eat lightly during the day of your session, and, refrain from eating or drinking for two hours before your session.

~~Can I eat afterward? ~~
Yes, you can.

~~Are there restrictions on activities after a colonic? ~~
At Oasis Colonics, we encourage you to listen to your body after your session. Usually it’s best to rest a bit after a colonic, if possible, to give your colon time to settle down. If you feel tired, rest and drink a lot of purified water. If you are energized, drink a lot of purified water and enjoy your feeling of lightness and clarity.

~~How will I feel after a colonic? ~~
At Oasis Colonics, some clients feel fatigued after a session. Other clients feel quite energized. If you feel tired or achy, it is because your body is still detoxifying. Drink a lot of purified water and rest. You will, most likely, feel quite renewed.

~~I’ve heard that getting a colonic depletes the body of necessary bacteria. Is this true? ~~
This idea is based on inaccurate information. The fact is that both friendly bacteria (probiotics) and unfriendly bacteria (harmful, toxic bacteria, fungi and viruses) dwell in the gut. These “flora” reproduce more efficiently in a clean environment. A colonic will not deplete the friendly flora. Conversely, the unfriendly bacteria thrive in a dirty environment. It is the unfriendly bacteria that can cause all kinds of health issues.

~~Having a colonic sounds like a very embarrassing procedure to me… ~~
It is the fear of embarrassment that is worse than any actual embarrassment. At Oasis Colonics, your comfort is very important. We will help ease any trepidation on your first visit by education and a gentle manner.

~~How do I know if I have toxins and encrusted feces in my colon? ~~
Symptoms of toxicity can include chronic constipation or diarrhea, fatigue, depression, headaches, skin blemishes, bad breath, weight issues, lack of vitality and several others.

~~How many sessions will I need? ~~
At Oasis Colonics, we recognize that each person is unique. Generally, a series of three to six colonics is adequate for a thorough initial cleansing. Additional colonics may be useful to tone up a lazy colon for someone who has a bowel condition such as constipation or excessive bloating, or who is in the process of healing a chronic disease. Treatments are administered by a skilled colon hydrotherapist who has over 25 years of experience in this field.
