Don’t Underestimate the Power of Clay

| September 7th, 2011 | No Comments »

Calcium bentonite clay is awesome! Have you ever wondered how a cleansing clay mask works, or why clay is recommended for spider and insect bites? Well, clay actually acts like a magnet as it draws toxic material out from the layers of the skin.

How does it do this? Because it possesses a negative ionic charge, while all toxins have a positive ionic charge. That means, this marvelous natural substance, from the earth, literally attracts positive ions, and draws them to itself. That’s why, when we drink a high quality form of clay, such as calcium bentonite, it moves through the body, and magnetically attracts and catches the “bad guys” that lurk in the tissues. In our digestive tract, it draws out toxins through the layers of the bowel wall. It is remarkably detoxifying!

Healing clays are not new on the modern health scene. Cultures all over the world have touted the medicinal and cleansing properties of clay. They depended on clay like a medicine.

About two thousand years ago, a famous physician named Pedanius Dioscorides traveled throughout the Europe and Asia Minor with Emperor Nero’s army. He was considered the “engineer of medicine” in the Roman Empire. Dioscorides wrote extensively about the healing virtues of clay in his five-volume treatise De Materia Medica.

The Native American peoples have always believed that clay has a wisdom of its own, and knows where to go and what to do. Clay is an effective balancer. As a catalyst in the body, clay can produce an element that the body is deficient in, even though the element is not in the clay itself. That is why it is ofter referred to as “Living Clay.” High quality clay is capable of making changes in the organism without losing any of its own elements. This activity is called bio-transmutation.

I am continually impressed with the results I see in those people who drink calcium bentonite clay as a prep before, and during, their colonic treatments. Used with various forms of fibers, such as psyllium husks, pea hull and flax seed meal, the waste material moves out through the colon by means of a mopping effect. The combination of calcium bentonite clay and fiber pulls out old, black toxic waste that sits lodged in the bowel lining. It is VERY satisfying to see that ancient crap move out!

“Our Earth, Our Cure” ~ Clay Brings The Body Into Balance

| July 22nd, 2011 | No Comments »
French Naturopath, Raymond Dextreit, is singularly responsible for the modern resurgence of healing clay as natural medicine art form in the western world. Raymond wrote the landmark handbook called “Our Earth, Our Cure,” which was translated into English and later retitiled “Earth Cures.”

Raymond’s 30+ years of experience with healing clays was coupled with an uncanny ability to observe, document, and correlate clay’s physiological action with the principles of both natural medicine and “modern” allopathic medicine. A master of observation, “modern progress” in the art and science of clay therapy would not have been possible without Dextreit’s core observations.

Raymond was certain about the antiseptic and antibiotic powers of clay, and it, also, puzzled him. He discovered that clay does not act specifically on one or several bacteria varieties; rather it prevents their proliferation by reinforcing the defenses of the organism. This is how clay brings the body into balance…

Not-to-mention the effectiveness of drinking liquid calcium bentonite as an adjunct to colon cleansing, many of my colonic clients have successfully treated all kinds of skin conditions with calcium bentonite clay. By repeatedly applying a paste of calcium bentonite clay to the affected area, and covering with plastic wrap or wax paper, many of my clients have seen eczema, psoriasis, boils, serious spider bites and annoying rashes respond curatively to the magnetic drawing out of toxins, and the healing effects of the Living Clay purchased at my colonic studio and from the Oasis Colonics online products page.
Far infrared therapy can be combined with external clay therapy with excellent results.

Although any far infrared heat source may be used with clay, the FDA approved TDP Lamp provides a source of gentle energy that may provide an enhanced synergistic effect due to the clay plate that the lamp uses.

Protection from Radiation: Calcium Bentonite Clay

| March 16th, 2011 | No Comments »

No matter what we do, no matter how health conscious we’ve become, no matter what precautions are taken, our bodies are radiated daily. It is crucially important to counter this bombardment, to remove this radiation and the resultant damage from our bodies on a daily basis. There is nothing better for this purpose than using quality Calcium Bentonite Clay on a daily basis.

Right now, everyone on earth is bathed in a soup of radioactive energy. With the recent earthquakes in Japan, and the damage done to the nuclear power plants, there has never been a time when it was more important to cleanse our bodies of ever present radiation: alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, muons, neutrinos.

Sitting on a shelf in my colonic studio is a book called, Living Clay, Nature’s Own Miracle Cure. It is the definitive guide for using and understanding the multiple benefits of Calcium Bentonite Clay. It explains how this natural mineral will do more than any other substance (natural or pharmaceutical) to remove radioactive isotopes from our bodies and to assist our bodies in returning to a state of good health. However, all clays are not alike. It is important to know your clays and to find a pure clay.  Visit www.AboutClay.com, and read the article, Criteria for Selecting a Quality Healing Clay.

It’s important to know the truth about radiation so that suitable precaution can be made. It’s equally important to know what beliefs are realistic and which are not.

Radiation is energy in the form of electromagnetic waves, sometimes referred to generically as radio waves. Some radiation is quite harmless and passes through our bodies on a 24 hour a day basis (e.g., radio and TV wave frequencies). Higher spectrum, faster moving, wave frequencies can harm at a cellular level (e.g., x-rays or radioactive metals such as plutonium or uranium).

Ionizing Radiation is the ejection of one or more electrons from an atom or molecule to produce a fragment with a new positive charge (positive ion). The classification of radiation as “ionizing” is essentially a statement that it has enough quantum energy to eject an electron. This is a crucial distinction, since “ionizing radiation” can produce a number of physiological effects, such as those associated with risk of mutation or cancer, which non-ionizing radiation cannot directly produce at any intensity.

Fallout is composed of radioactive particles that are carried into the upper atmosphere by a nuclear explosion or meltdown and that eventually fall back to the earth’s surface.

Doses of can cause temporary hair loss, as well as more significant internal harm, including damage to nerve cells and the cells that line the digestive tract. Severe loss of white blood cells, which are the body’s main defense against infection, makes radiation victims highly vulnerable to disease. Radiation also reduces production of blood platelets, which aid blood clotting, so victims of radiation sickness are also vulnerable to hemorrhaging.

Drinking precautionary maintenance doses of Calcium Bentonite Clay is a wise addition to our health regime. Drink 2 ounces of clay twice daily, and if possible, take 1 Potassium Iodine tablet every morning, and a weekly clay bath.

Radioactive material is formed carrying a positive ionic charge. Calcium Bentonite Clay is a negatively charged ion. Simply put, Calcium Bentonite Clay adsorbs and absorbs, capturing positive charged ions, and you wash them off or pass them through your body. Unlike other clays, only Smectites (Bentonites) can absorb and adsorb and are characterized by its expandable properties.

Radiation is a real health problem. Calcium Bentonite Clay is the real solution. I recommend reading the book Living Clay, Nature’s Own Miracle Cure for protocols, mixing directions, and to learn more about protecting your family and yourself from our inevitable exposure to radiation.

Calcium Bentonite Clay Compliments Colonics

| December 16th, 2010 | No Comments »

At Oasis Colonics, we often recommend drinking calcium bentonite clay in order to draw toxic waste out of the tissues, and prepare the body to flush out old waste with the colonic water. It is a very effective compliment to colon hydrotherapy.

The Random House College Dictionary describes dried bentonite rock as “a clay formed by the decomposition of volcanic ash.” It describes clay as “consisting essentially of hydrated silicates of aluminum, regarded as the material from which the human body was formed.” Clays contains the primary elements that make up the body – silica, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, iron, sodium, sulphur, carbon and 50-70 trace minerals.

Much of the mystery of clay lies in its energy, and negative ionic charge due to the tremendous heat of the volcano. This heat supercharged the clay, and bonded the mineral components together. I like to compare calcium bentonite clay to a magnet. Since it is negatively charged, bentonite clay by nature attracts positively charged particles, which is toxic waste. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41HDqtlw-eL.jpgWhen taken internally, the particles of clay saturate the alimentary canal, including the small and large intestines. While doing so it draws out toxins from the layers of the intestinal wall. It has similar properties to soap, in that it disturbs “dirt,” and moves it away from where it was lodged or stuck.

Calcium bentonite clay can also enrich the blood, and stop anemia. It builds bone density as well, both when taken internally, and when applied topically. Clay is a catalyst that works with the body to speed the healing process. In some cases the body is able to transform the clay, and break it down through enzymatic action into peptide chains into protein.

On a molecular level, Robert T. Marin, a mineralogist at MIT, points to Bentonite’s minute particle size that creates a large surface area in proportion to the volume used. “The greater the surface area, the greater its power to pick up positively charged particles of ions.” Mr. Marin stated that one gram of clay has a surface area of 800 square meters. Thus, the greater the surface area, the greater the power to pick up positive charged ions many times its own weight. Swelling clays of the right mineral composition have a great potential for absorption.

The pH of Living Clay® is 9.7, and thus it acts as an alkalizing agent for the body. The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline. Because of clay’s homeostatic abilities, it helps balance the body’s pH level. It naturally creates balance. Bentonite clay baths are increasingly popular for detoxing, cleansing the skin and balancing the bodies pH levels.

Living Clay® was carefully evaluated by Oasis Colonics in Portland, and selected as our premier clay for its superior qualities. Click HERE for more information on how calcium bentonite clay effectively compliments colon hydrotherapy.

What’s That Growly In My Bowely?

| November 29th, 2010 | No Comments »

GOT GAS? It can be a REAL pain, literally!

Winnie the Pooh aptly describes his hunger pains with the familiar and lovable words, “I’m rumbly in my tumbly!” Perhaps we might just as aptly describe a familiar, but not so lovable, “growly in my bowely!”

When my colonic clients complain to me of gas problems, they always want to know where it comes from. One word defines this uncomfortable nuisance: Putrefaction.

These are some common causes of excessive gas production in the bowel:

  • Constipation or slow transit resulting in the over-accumulation of waste
  • Inability to break down complex sugars and starches
  • Insufficient exercise which slows peristalsis and circulation
  • Improper food combining i.e. complex carbohydrates with heavy proteins
  • Endocrine imbalance, resulting in insufficient digestive secretions from the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, stomach and small intestines
  • Lactose intolerance or the inability to digest milk based sugars
  • Overeating
  • Yeast overgrowth

Many clients at Oasis Colonics in Portland, Oregon report success for alleviating gas by using:

  • Herbs and digestive enzymes
  • Calcium bentonite clay
  • Saccharomyces boulardii
  • Probiotics
  • Dietarey restrictions: i.e. avoid refined, processed carbohydrates and heavy starches
  • Exercise with yoga, swimming, and walking
  • Breathing exercises
  • Meditation
  • Massage to the abdomen
  • Colon hydrotherapy treatments, enemas, and/or Ayurvedic bastis
  • Juice Fasts
  • Hot epsom salts baths
